The CEO of Polyphony Digital, Kazunori Yamauchi has revealed that his studio has already started work on the next instalment in the Gran Turismo series.
Autoweek asked Yamauchi-san if Gran Turismo 6 was already in development, which he confirmed and then added when asked for an idea of what to expect, "It's not something that we can talk that lightly on. It took 2,000 days to get all the ideas that went into GT5. It's just too early to be talking about GT6".
Yamauchi-san has indicated previously that the wait for Gran Turismo 6 won't be as long as it has been for GT5. Polyphony Digital intends to build GT6 on the same system that's been used for GT5, only with new apps.
GT5 has now gone gold despite being delayed from its November 3rd release date last month. When asked whether he thought the game would arrive before Christmas, Yamauchi-san replied, "I think so".
