Keiji Inafune Leaves Capcom News

Keiji Inafune, the creator of iconic Capcom series such as Mega-Man and Dead Rising, has revealed that he's leaving his position at Capcom with the intention of "starting his life over".

According to a Kotaku report, which translates a blog post by Inafune, he's now left his position as Head of R&D Management Group, Consumer Games R&D Division and Contents Management Division at Capcom.

As well as being the creator of Mega-Man, Inafune also played a leading role in the creation of other iconic Capcom series such as Dead Rising, Ominusha, Lost Planet, Street Fighter IV, and Resident Evil.

Inafune is well-known for his vocal criticisms of the Japanese game industry, which he proclaimed to be years behind the West at the Tokyo Game Show just over a month ago. He also stated recently that he hated his job and wanted to retire early.

"There's nowhere higher for me to go," Inafune said. "I'm leaving Capcom with the intention of starting my life over."

"People that really know me," Inafune continued, "can see where I'm coming from. I'm not a regular dude. It's probably because I'm strange."
